I need to sell my work and make money to not only clear my stock room but my head as well. This will undoubtedly assist the development of new project ideas this year. Help a sister out!

Okay I have finally got around to uploading photos from the Lost Girls... show. The exhibition officially wrapped up on the 21st April and the bump-out coincided with my friend visiting from Japan and moving house. Now that I am settled into my new nest on Brisbane's south-side, I can crack on in the studio. The Lost Girls... exhibition and project received support from the GCCC and Arts Queensland through the RADF program. I will be piecing together the outcomes in a written report that will be submitted to the council. In the meantime, I can reflect on what aspects of the project were successful and also take stock of the elements that were more challenging. Soon I should have the images taken on opening night by local photographer Emily Nelson but for now I will post a few of the photos taken on my camera.
Spool Collective is a blog run by a team of local Brisbane creatively geared thinkers, movers and shakers. The Spool Collective site provides a platform for artists to show their work online and give an insight into what motivates them artistically and conceptually.
Initiatives like this are vital to the strength of a local art community and Spool Collective aims to bridge the divide between the arts world and non-arts world. If you are interested in finding out about what local artists and emerging groups/performers are doing - check out the Spool Collective site. It is well worth regular visit as to keep up to date with scheduled performances, exhibitions and events happening in Brisbane. So bump a few of those pompous food and fashion blogs off your bookmarks bar and add SPOOL COLLECTIVE!
This blog will attempt to give an insight into my everyday art practice. It will not be hoity-toity or dare it be said...wanky. If anything it will be an honest and simple documentation of my developing conceptual ideas, interests and practical processes. I'm enthralled with storytelling and visual narrative. I work with drawing, 2D collage/image, mixed media, installation, painting and animation. I'll elaborate more on the varying subjects/themes I work with...in posts and images of current or previous projects. Enjoy
